Struggling through poverty and trauma at 14-21 years old without enough adult support 
– we shouldn’t let this happen in our community. 

Teen girls/young women and trans youth are strong and full of potential, but need support and resources to navigate hardship and grow into thriving adults. They need safe space, mentorship, and personal empowerment skills like yoga and meditation.

We all need personal empowerment skills like yoga and meditation, 
including those of us who cannot afford to pay for classes or do not feel welcome or comfortable in the conventional culture around holistic wellness.

​

Help us strengthen our community by providing holistic wellness training, mentorship, and safe space to those who don’t normally have access to them.


By supporting each other, we create a community that nurtures us all to thrive.

Athlete Fundraising Program

Are you an athlete? You can extend your yoga off the mat by using your athletics to do seva (selfless service) and fundraise for Root to Rise Collective.

Download this simple toolkit [link to toolkit] and use it to set athletic goals and ask your family and friends to sponsor you by donating to Root to Rise Collective if you meet your goals. This will not only raise funds for Root to Rise Collective, but motivate you to do your best.

Personal Goals Fundraising Program

Extend your yoga off the mat by working to achieve your personal goals while doing seva (selfless service) by fundraising for Root to Rise Collective.

Download this simple toolkit [link to toolkit] and use it to set your own personal goal and ask your family and friends to sponsor you by donating to Root to Rise Collective if you achieve it. This will not only raise funds for Root to Rise Collective, but motivate you to achieve what you want for yourself.

 

For example, your goal could be:

  • Maintaining a daily yoga or meditation practice for a month

  • Reaching the ability to do a yoga pose you have never been able to do before

  • Losing 10 pounds

  • Writing five poems

  • Kayaking all the way around a lake

  • Completing a public speaking class

  • Cleaning out your attic

  • Building a piece of furniture

  • Starting a vegetable garden

Volunteer.

Seva (selfless service) is an important way to extend and deepen yoga off the mat and into normal life. 

How would you like to help our girls/young women and trans youth?

​

Volunteer during afterschool hours, 2:30-5:30 Monday through Friday

  • Homework help

  • Life skills like budgeting, learning to drive, etc.

  • Car rides for doctors’ appointments, grocery shopping, etc.

  • Gardening, art, or other enrichment projects

​
